In
1948, Bob Jacoby started working at Jacoby Bros. Limited, a manufacturing
jewellery business established in 1909 by his father and uncles.
Together with his older brother, he continued in the business until
the 1980s. At that time the business was closed and from then until
early 2002, Bob worked as a salesman calling on retail jewellery
stores in British Columbia selling gold and diamond jewellery.
Since his retirement in 2002, Bob has been doing research in
the Vancouver Archives and several libraries. He is working on
writing a book of the jewellery business in British Columbia.
Bob and his wife, Carole, and their small dog, Sydnee, live in
Walnut Grove, north Langley. They have two sons and two grandchildren.
No bio about Bob would be complete without mentioning his great
interest in the Boston Red Sox baseball team and the B.C. Lions
in the C.F.L.
Bob has had two articles published, one about his dog and the
other about a trip his sons took him on to Boston to see the Red
Sox play in Fenway Park in 2005.
