| Oh, Little One, I said “No No”, In the cupboard you cannot go. The pots, you see, are used to cook. “No No” my son, don’t rip the page, Let’s have lunch, some PB and J, “No No” dear boy, you have to eat, That’s enough, you cranky pants, Take a nap, now rest my dear, Twenty minutes till silence sounds, Tape the page and pick up toys, |
Alas he wakes and clears the bed, “No No” I say, he laughs with glee, Down the stairs to clean rooms
we go, That picture frame is not for play, You do not listen but laugh and laugh, Here are trucks, a phone, and blocks, The drawers are empty, a pile on the floor, Let’s cook dinner, a delight you’ll see, I’ll hold you till the pasta’s done,
|
You make a mess, up in your chair, Little One, now in the tub, “No No”, don’t splash, now I’m soaking wet. You run away, bare bum
and all, Oh, a yawn, now up to bed, One more story, blanky in hand, I lay you down, you stir a bit, I whisper “Good Night”, and slip away,
