DEMAND FOR PEACE

Seek peace my friends, and stand for peace
      Unless from life
      You seek release

Please choose right now, your life, your death
      For it’s your own
      Don’t hold your breath

Don’t tell me that no war is near
      This world’s our own
      And we live here

The men beheaded, children shot
      The women raped
      All faith forgot

The bombs exploding, mayhem reigns
      As bodies writhe
      In screaming pain

We’re not apart when on T.V.
      I see those guns
      That point at me

I know exactly what they mean
      I see my world
      Upon that screen

It brings to me each distant face
      In every land
      In every place

They’re people too, they’re just like me
      I could not kill
      Another me

This world belongs to every race
      We’re not exclusive
      Any place

And threats of war are hard to break
      When they are made
      For just pride’s sake

But sad to say, we always hope
      That someone else
      Will have to cope

This world is ours, we have the choice
      Of making nations
      Hear our voice

I wrote these words, but not alone
      We ALL deserve
      The safety zone

Seek peace my friends, and take a stand
      It only comes
      Upon demand.
