April 1, 2007
Thursday’s meeting saw five
of us gathered here: Margaret, Ellie, Bob, Susan and myself. Our
dear Gemma was in a car accident and was unable to attend. She
said she didn’t have any broken bones, but still felt stiff and sore.
Our best wishes for a speedy return to health for her.
Bob’s news was that his son,
Rob, became engaged on Wednesday.
Margaret read to us that the
Reverends Peabody and Peacock both went home on the Monday morning.
Peabody calls for his housekeeper, Marie, but she’s not there.
And Peacock’s housekeeper, Marigold, is missing, too. They find
a letter saying the two are away in Kent. Marie left a message
asking Peabody to take some art of hers to an Art Club, for display.
But getting muddled, the exhibit ends up looking like The Lost Slipper
instead of The Last Supper. Very funny.
Ellie read some more of Jenny
who works for Greg, a very demanding photographer. At home after
work, she sits down and hears someone calling her “Jenny Fair”.
She sees a globe of light that grows, and then the old man from the
night before steps out of it. He is Menor of Lorimar, and tells
her she is not losing her mind. She realizes he’s reading her
mind and pushes him away, but then is sorry. He acknowledges her
power.
I read Chapter 35 of my novel,
that tells of Fiona, while her son is being held by police, having to
deal with the emergency situation of a broken water main in the complex.
She realizes Dan, the suspected arsonist, is an excavator, so she hires
him to dig up the broken main, so she can keep an eye on him, not trusting
the police. Bob pointed out to me some technical errors that I
will correct.
Susan didn’t get a chance
to read, so will read first at our next meeting.
And our next meeting will be
here at my place, Thursday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m.
Hope to see you then.
