THE RAM’S HEAD REVIEW

May 5, 2007

Thursday saw six of us here to praise The Muse and worship the written word. Susan’s news is that she and Chris have bought their new home in St. John’s and Chris starts his new job there on June 1st. And yes, Susan and Chris are expecting their 5th child in November. Congratulations on all their good news, but oh, we will miss seeing Susan every week.

Margaret had more pencil drawings showing the stone cottages with thatched roofs in the village where they are searching for Rev. Peabody and the missing sidecar. We heard of Conrad and Cecil searching in Square C. They were searching the sheep farm of Farmer Lamb, who told of seeing a strange object that flew down the hill and into the pond. A shepherd later tells them that Farmer Lamb is the President of the UFO Society.

Susan read her rewrite of Ch. 15. Barley and Phyllis are heading for downtown Vancouver through the tunnel. They are in an accident, make it to Gastown, then have to go to Main and Hastings, then Stanley Park and the hollow tree, and then find co-ordinates for Maple Ridge with hardly any time left. The whole Chapter has lots of setbacks and builds tension nicely.

I read a personal piece that tells of the trauma that Mother’s Day can illicit in some people. It acknowledges the other side of the coin to that one day of the year.

Only the three of us had something to read, but we all enjoyed being together anyhow.

Next meeting here at my place Thursday, May 10th at 7:00 p.m. Look forward to seeing you then.
